"Big" Gym: Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling

Chanute High School Main Gymnasium was built with the rest of the school back in 2008 and features a North and South scoreboard and 6 KSHSAA regulation-height basketball goals on motorized retractors. This gymnasium consists of seating for a maximum capacity of 1,600 individuals as well as 26 handicap accessible seating areas. These seats are also on retractable motors allowing for much larger use of the facility during Physical Education classes. In the upper West area of the gym, CHS has also added an indoor batting cage for use during the Spring sports season. Attached to the ceiling of the gymnasium is a sound system consisting of 13 individual 24" X 24" speakers for music and sound. This gym sees consistent use in many sports and activities from Chanute High School, Royster Middle School and even traveling and recreational sports.

Auxiliary "Little" Gym: Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling

As a smaller facility to the Main Gymnasium, the Auxiliary Gym is home to make Junior Varsity games and matches. With a total of 400 individual seats, including 4 handicap accessible seating areas, this gym is more than enough for smaller events. Just like the Main Gym, the Auxiliary Gym also has 6 retractable basketball goals and an East and West scoreboard. Due to the smaller size of the entire gym itself, the Auxiliary Gym only features 7 individual 24" X 24" speakers for their sound system.
