The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a * Flood Watch for portions of South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas, including the following areas, in South Central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Sedgwick, and Sumner. In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson. * From 6 PM CST this evening through Monday afternoon. * Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is expected tonight on already saturated grounds. Rainfall amounts from late this afternoon through Monday morning are expected to be in the 1 to 1.5 inch range, with some amounts approaching 2 inches southeast of the Kansas Turnpike. This amount of rainfall will likely cause substantial rises in river levels and will cause flooding of low land areas, low water crossings and fields with poor drainage.
