Public Schools are an important facet of every Kansas community. Chanute Public Schools reflects the beliefs and culture of the community through its educational lens and the teachers and staff in its schools. As the district embarks on creating a formal Strategic Plan for its future, it makes sense to involve members of the community in this endeavor.
As a resident, parent, or business owner, this is an opportunity to help determine the plans and actions the district will emphasize in the future. Committees of 15-30 members are being formed to create actions plans for the seven strategies deemed important by the Strategic Plan Steering Committee.
“As you may recall, we had a group of community members, parents and teachers join together as a steering committee back in June,” said Assistant Superintendent Tracy Russell. “Out of this planning committee, seven strategies were developed. Our next step in the Strategic Planning process is to develop action plans for each of these seven strategies.
The Action Teams will meet from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays during the first semester. Anyone interested can use the link below to read more about the seven strategy statements and choose one that best reflects their interest.
An action team leader will contact members on September 14th about the first meeting.
“We would love to have your participation as a community member,” Russell said. “Thank you for helping us develop a plan for the future of our school district.”
