Children to teens, 1-18, eat free this summer

Chanute Public Schools nutrition staff will be serving breakfasts and lunches for all children during June and July. Anyone up to 18 years of age can eat for free. No reservations, just show up. There is no paperwork to fill out.

Breakfasts are served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. only at Chanute Elementary School. Boys eating breakfast with friends at CES

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Chanute Elementary and from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the satellite locations.  Depending on the day, check menu, sack lunches may include a burrito, uncrustable sandwich, hot ham and cheese sandwich or corn dog. Fruit or vegetable, juice and milk are also served.

Lunches to the satellite locations are delivered on a schedule between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

The USD 413 Food Wagon will deliver lunches to the former Save-A-Lot parking lot, the American Legion parking lot and the 15th and Central school bus stop.

The Food Van will deliver lunches to the Katy Park shelter area, Chanute Public Library, Highland Park shelter area and the Chanute Swimming pool picnic tables.

There will be no meal service on the Fourth of July.
