The Kansas Assessment programs (computerized and paper and pencil) are designed to meet the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind act. The Kansas Computerized Assessments (KCA) project provides not only the online testing interface for students, but online training tools, tutorials, and practice and formative tests for each subject area to educate and prepare school personnel and students for online testing.
The Kansas Academic Standards give school districts a framework to design their curriculum, instruction, testing and teacher development.Academic standards spell out what students should know and be able to do at various stages in their schooling.
The Kansas State Assessment is what Kansas uses to determine whether or not a student meets standards in specific areas such as reading, math, and science. An assessment is just another name for a test.Royster will begin testing on February 23rd.All students will be tested in Math and Reading and 7th Grade students will also test in Science. Please see the attached calendar to learn when your child will be testing. The calendar indicates on what days or weeks each teacher will be testing. For instance if your child is enrolled in a math class taught by Mrs. Bolt, your child will complete math testing on February 23, 24, and 25.
