NCCC Concurrent Credit Courses Juniors and seniors meeting the following requirements may sign up for college classes also known as concurrent classes. Students will receive ½ credit for each semester concurrent class they pass as well as 3 college credits from NCCC per class. Concurrent class requrements - Student must have at least a 2.5 GPA
- Student must meet a satisfactory score on the ACT, ASSET, or Compass test
Cost of classes- Neosho County Resident | Tuition | $45/credit | | | Fees | $19/credit | | | Total | $64/credit | (A three-credit class would cost $188) | Scholarships —Neosho County Resident students with a GPA of 3.6 or above qualify for a scholarship up to six credits/semester. The scholarship waives tuition. Students are responsible only for fees. | Tuition | Waived | | | Fees | $19/credit | | | Total | $19/credit | (A three-credit class would cost $57) | Enrolling for classes NCCC will enroll students at Chanute High School for the fall semester during enrollment in August. Enrollment for the spring semester will occur in January. OPTIONS FOR CHS STUDENTS TO CONSIDER: “FAST TRACK” Option – Take the NCCC basic courses at the high school while in high school. Upon high school graduation you can complete your Associates Degree at NCCC in only one year. Students with a 3.6 GPA are eligible for scholarships. The classes are affordable for all students. NCCC credits taken at the high school transfer to every Kansas Regents school. Get cheap or free credits while learning an occupation while still at CHS through: HEALTH OCCUPATIONS CLASS – class is offered at CHS during the day. Student completing this class may take the licensing exam for occupations as: Certified Nurse Assistant Home Health Aide Certified Nutrition Aide CONSTRUCTION - students must enroll in this class during 3 of their 7 class periods. Students will get college credit in Construction Trades while learning how to build a house from the foundation up WELDING – students must enroll in this class during 2 of their 7 class period. Students will get college credit in Welding Trades while preparing to be Welding Certified through AWS.
