School Resource Officer:

The role of the school resource officer is to develop a positive relationship between students and law enforcement officials. This officer visits with children in classrooms during presentations about the negative effects of drug and alcohol abuse as well as other safety issues. If a situation arises that would require the officer to interview a student at school individually concerning criminal activity, parents and school administration will be notified before any interview of this type occurs. An interview relating to a criminal investigation by any law enforcement officer may not occur without the permission of parents and school administration unless prescribed otherwise by law.
